Job Description
Best Western PLUS Silver Saddle Inn is seeking diverse candidates for the position of Resident General Manager.

The position is under the direction of the ownership and performs executive level administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing the operations and functions of the property.

- Be a model and example for maintaining a friendly, attentive, and service oriented demeanor in all interactions with guests and hotel staff.
- Keep open communication between leaders within the hotel staff and work to develop a high-quality staff that is aligned with the high level of guest service that is expected.
- Oversee the operations functions of the hotel, as per Organizational chart.
- Hold regular briefings and meetings with all staff.
- Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Lead all key property issues including capital projects, customer, and refurbishment.
- Accurately manage financials, P&L, and scheduling to maintain profitability.
- Ensure compliance with local and state requirements for licensing, permits and sales tax.
- Maintain security and safety systems within the property and ensure that proper inspections and maintenance are attended to.
- Drive property-wide improvements within staff training and development, to ensure top quality guest services and drive consistent guest returns. Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments.
- Communicate ideas, development goals, and tasks to team members effectively and maintain timely follow up to delegated tasks.
- Able to keep a proactive view of issues within the property and be attentive in arriving at a solution before the disruption of the hotel functions occurs.
- Analysis assessment of data and information from multiple sources to arrive at solutions that will be beneficial to the business.
- Receiving concerns and issues from the hotel guests and staff in an attentive professionally focused manner.
- Supervises departmental personnel directly or through subordinate supervisors as well as hires, rewards, disciplines, promotes and terminates staff employees.
- Performs other related work as required or assigned.
MINIMUM AND PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least four years’ General Manager experience in a 60+ unit hotel, Best Western experience preferred.
- College degree, preferably in hotel management or similar major.
- Four years of supervisory experience and strong management skills of large teams.
- Developed time management skills.
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks to the most qualified staff members.
- Ability to produce financial results in line with budgeted objectives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Working knowledge of computers, including software such as Microsoft Office.
- Must be an exceptional planner and can motivate within all departments.
- Must be a self-starter with emphasis placed on guest comfort and guest experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to develop and maintain accurate records and reports when necessary.
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations as needed both within and outside of standard working hours.
- Must be able to work a variable work schedule including weekends and holidays.
